Civil Engineering Design Projects

Southwest Anchorage Middle School/Elementary School Site Selection
F. Robert Bell & Associates contracted with Anchorage School District to provide civil engineering design and project management services for a proposed school site selection.  The project involved coordination among architects, geotechnical engineers, traffic engineers, environmental and noise consultants.  Project completion time was six-weeks, and resulted in a high degree of client satisfaction.

Sand Lake Elementary School Site Plan
F. Robert Bell & Associates, with Krochina Associates, Architects, developed a new site plan for Anchorage School District’s Sand Lake Elementary School.  This plan added parking spaces, improved traffic flow, a new multi-purpose field and resolved drainage problems. 

AWAIC Shelter Renovation Civil Design Services
F. Robert Bell & Associates, provided the civil design for a remodel and expansion of a local not-for-profit housing facility; Livingston-Slone, Architect.  The work included a survey and plat of the lot, revisions to existing water and sewer services and a new parking lot.

Chugach Park Subdivision Civil Design
F. Robert Bell & Associates has been working with the property owner to subdivide and develop a 107-acre subdivision into 37 lots in Indian, South East of Anchorage.  The project included the subdivision design, final plat and permitting (USACE, AK Dept of Fish and Game, and Parks and Recreation.) F. Robert Bell & Associates’ subdivision plan provided for the optimal number of lots for the location and minimized the environmental impact, reducing the permitting time. 

Denali View Estates Subdivision
F. Robert Bell & Associates worked with the property owner to develop 40 acres into 12 lots.  Special permitting was required for the Coastal Management District and Flood Hazard area.  F. Robert Bell & Associates attended MatSu Borough platting board meetings, designed the project in accordance with US Army Corps of Engineers, State of Alaska Dept of Fish and Game, and Borough standards; as well as coordinated all work with local utilities. 

Midas Automotive Site Design
F. Robert Bell & Associates worked with The Design Company (Pat Eder, AIA) on a 10-bay automotive service center.  The site plan included water, sewer and power utility connections, site drainage, landscaping and storm drain improvements.  F. Robert Bell & Associates also provided as-built drawings for the project.

McKay Building Civil Design
F. Robert Bell & Associates worked with Three-Way Electric (Mark Marlow) to provide civil, survey, mechanical and electrical design for a 17-story high-rise renovation project in downtown Anchorage.  The civil engineering for this high-profile project included replatting the property, designing mainline utility locations, site planning, parking water and sewer service connections and storm drainage improvements.
